TOWN OF HANSON
COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE
Meeting Minutes – July 20, 2011

Members Present:
William Clay, John Kemmett, Robert Sears, Alan Clemons, Laura Fitzgerald-Kemmett, David Harris, Patty Norton.

Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes
7:05 Meeting called to order.

Minutes of the June Meeting were approved as written.  Vote taken 5-0 with 2 abstentions.

Communications and Updates:
We were notified that Phil Lindquist has resigned from the Planning Board and as their representative on our board, resigned as a member from the CPC as well.  We accepted his resignation with deep regret as he was an extremely important and knowledgeable member of our committee.  He will be deeply missed.  Laura will contact the Planning Board and remind them of the need to appoint a committee member to our board.  

Chair Report:
Laura Fitzgerald-Kemmett gave the chair report:
        
  • Laura notified us that she will be meeting with Renee Reed regarding personnel matters.
 
  • Laura notified us that she did guest on the local TV show hosted by Bob Hayes as a part of our outreach program.
  • Laura notified us that Bill Straight has met with the recreation department and at this point there appears to be no further desire to move forward with the plan for the Fire House restoration at the camp.
  • Alan notified us that the work on the historical building is on schedule but yet to be completed.
  • Laura noted that we have one open invoice from the Board of Assessors and we will need an original copy to make payment.  
Old Business
Sign:  John discussed the status of the sign for Thomas Mill.  The ZBA has informed John that we will need to apply for a variance.  David Harris made a motion, Laura Fitzgerald-Kemmett seconded, to move forward with the application process.  Motion passed 7-0.
Thomas Mill   We discussed the maintenance of the mill property and will be sending the sponsor of the application, the Hanson Conservation Committee a letter to explain the status of maintenance at the mill.
New Business
Yearly Reorganization of the committee.  Dave Harris made a motion, Bill Clay seconded to to keep the current slate of officers of Laura Fitzgerald-Kemmett Chairperson and Patty Norton Vice Chairperson.  Motion passed 7-0.
Bill Clay asked that we come up with a timeline for projects for each cycle.  Bill will research the process some other towns use and present it at future meeting.

Voted to adjourn the meeting at 8:05 PM.
